I am an ACHE Certified Hypnotherapist, a member The Newton Institute for Life Between Lives Hypnotherapy (TNI), and certified in Spiritual Regression hypnotherapy by the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists (NATH), with Dr. Michael Newton (author of the best sellers "Journey of Souls" and "Destiny of Souls"). I received my training in traditional hypnotherapy from the Hypnotherapy Training Institute, at Corte Madera, California. I also hold a degree in psychology from the California Coast University at Santa Ana, California.

In 1974 I began my career of service with the emergency services as a firefighter, a paramedic, and as a communications specialist. By August of 1990 the accumulated toll of all that I had witnessed in the line of duty inspired me to seek a more proactive approach to health, healing, and wellness.

With this intent I undertook a vision quest facilitated by Sedonia Cahill and Barton Stone of the Great Round. In the desert I experienced a profound connection with the Mystery. It was as though there really is no separation; that the world and I are but a thin veil floating upon the surface of something huge and mysterious - a faint and poignant song cradled in the wind. I brought with me a drum of my own making. It became a central figure on my vision journey.

Within three months of my return from the desert I resigned my position as charge paramedic and created the Singing Drum Workshops, teaching drum-making and drumming as a tool in psycho-social-spiritual integration and transformation, in a series of workshops from coast to coast.

In the years after founding the Singing Drum workshops I continued my emergency services work as an Emergency Medical Communications Specialist (awarded Communications Specialist of the year 1995, by the National Association of Air-Medical Communications Specialists ) and continued my personal exploration of the psyche, spirituality, and the nature of personal transformation. I earned a degree in psychology, completed certification as a hypnotherapist, became a Reiki II practitioner, served as a volunteer for Enloe Hospice, and broadened the scope of my workshops to incorporate elements of Shamanic trance work.

Dear Visitor, Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. I have closed my hypnotherapy practice and am no longer accepting new clients. Those seeking LBL Hypnotherapy services are encouraged to visit The Newton Institute website, or those practitioners listed on my Spiritual Regression Hypnotherapy links page.

My inner musings sometimes take on the form of music and poetry.

My philosophy about my work with people:

My life is a mysterious and sacred journey. I know that each person I meet is also on their own specific, intimate and sacred journey. It is my intent to be fully present with each person in a manner that is deeply respectful of their own distinctive life journey. I bring to this work, not only my education, but the fullness of my life experience, both triumphs and failures (which have often been more informative than when I "got it right").

Here is a link to an audio file that was given to me many years ago as a cassette tape. It has served as a touchstone for me these many years. I call it "The Mystery".

A few of my favorite quotes:

"If you step out into the void, your feet will either find something solid to stand on, or you will be taught to fly." (Source unknown)

"Almost anything you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it." (Mohandas Ghandi)

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science." (Albert Einstein)
