This one is the poetic telling of a vision I experienced on a backpacking trip in the Sierras.

The Portal

Cooling road-weary heels in mountain stream
the mossy grotto before me transforms
beckoning

Through Merlin's cave
passing in utter darkness
groping
emerging through the eyes
of the bookcase Buddha
gazing
upon my own living room.

"Nice place you've got here".
